One Breath Photography was started by John Johnson as a way of showcasing freedive, or breath-hold, photography. The idea was simple--show people the underwater world of Hawaii and try to inspire in them the desire to see and take care of the ocean. All of the images on this site were taken without the aid of SCUBA. They are all taken on a single breath of air, hence the name One Breath Photography.
In 2007 One Breath Photography expanded through marriage. The talents of John Johnson were combined with that of Lisa (Kikuyama) Johnson and the results are apparent in both the design of our site, our products, and our images.
Our goal remains simple--share the underwater world with everyone, breath by breath, image by image. Mahalo for your interest!
